The Fair Trade Pledge Contest
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

THE BE FAIR PLEDGE CONTEST BEGINS AT 12:01 A.M. EASTERN TIME (“ET”) ON 10/01/09 AND ENDS AT 11:59 P.M. ET ON 10/14/09 ("ENTRY PERIOD").
1. ELIGIBILITY: Pledge Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States, age 18 or older at time of entry (“Entrant”). Employees and their immediate family members (defined as spouses, parents, siblings or children) of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (“Sponsor”), Select Design, Ltd., Global Exchange, Fair Trade Federation, Reality Tours, their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void elsewhere and where prohibited by law. All Entrants (as defined below) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges and the Sponsor shall be final and binding. All Entrants must release the Sponsor, Select Design, Ltd, Global Exchange, Fair Trade Federation Reality Tours, their parent and all their respective affiliated companies and all other businesses involved in this Pledge Contest, as well as the employees, officers, directors, shareholders, representatives, agents, successors and assigns of each (“Released Parties”), from all claims, liability, law suits, costs, expenses, fees, injuries (including death), losses, and damages relating to their participation, acceptance and use of any prize. Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage, including death caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this Pledge Contest or use or redemption of prize. Void where prohibited or restricted. Winning a prize is contingent on fulfilling all requirements in these Official Rules.
2. HOW TO ENTER THE PLEDGE CONTEST: INTERNET ACCESS AND EMAIL ACCOUNT AND ACCESS NECESSARY TO ENTER AND WIN. The Pledge Contest can only be entered online. To enter the Pledge Contest, visit www.eatdrinkandbefair.com and click on “Take the Fair Trade Pledge” during the Entry Period and follow the entry instructions which include, but are not limited to, “clicking” to pledge, entering your first and last name, address including zip code, email, phone number (optional). By completing and submitting the online entry form during the Entry Period, you will be entered into the Pledge Contest prize pool (“Entry”) and each individual submitting such Entry shall be the “Entrant”. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the administration of the Pledge Contest or in the announcement of any prize. Limit: One entry per email address. Subsequent entries submitted by the same person or email address will be disqualified. Should a dispute arise regarding the identity of the Entrant, the authorized account subscriber of said e-mail account at the time of entry will be considered the Entrant. “Authorized account subscriber” as it relates to e-mail is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Illegible or mechanically reproduced entries are not eligible. Proof of entering information at the Entry Site is not considered proof of delivery or receipt. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged or misdirected entries.
3. WINNER SELECTION: All Entrants beginning on October 01 2009 and until October 14 2009, will be entered to win Pledge Contest prizes. A random drawing to award prizes will be conducted from among all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Random drawing will be conducted on or about 10/15/09 by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Sweepstakes Agency, Cercone Brown and Company, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Pledge Contest. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Prize winners are responsible for all federal, state, local and sales and income taxes and any costs, expense(s) or fees whatsoever in connection with the prize not specifically provided herein. If the actual value of a prize is lower than ARV stated in these Official Rules, the difference will not be awarded in cash. In the event that, for reasons beyond their control and not related to the winners, the Sponsor or independent judging organization is unable to award prize as described in these Official Rules, they will substitute the prize with another prize of similar nature and equal or greater value at their sole discretion. Prize is non-assignable and non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash. If selected winner is unable to accept the prize in its entirety for any reason, the selected winner will forfeit the prize and the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner. Prize is guaranteed to be awarded, assuming a sufficient number of entries are received. All entries and potential prize winners are subject to verification by Sponsor and administrator, whose decisions are final and binding.
Entry and acceptance of prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winner’s name, prize won, hometown, likeness, photograph, voice, address (city and state) and biographical information in any media throughout the world in perpetuity for purposes of advertising, online posting, promotion and publicity without additional compensation.
4. PRIZES & APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES ("ARV") First Prize: (1) Grand Prize: (2) tickets to the Eat, Drink & Be Fair Event. (1) Spot on a Judging Panel to sample Chef dishes and cast a vote. (1) One night stay at Hotel Marlowe, Cambridge, Ma. (1) $100 Gift Certificate to Bambara Restaurant (ARV: $500). Second Prize: (6) 2 tickets to the Eat, Drink & Be Fair Event (ARV: $200).
PRIZE DETAILS: Meals, transportation other than that specified herein, hotel incidentals, gratuities, taxes or any other charges not included in Prize are the sole responsibility of Prize winner. Prize Winner and guest must travel on dates designated by Sponsor or forfeit all rights to prize. Prize winner are responsible for all transportation. Accommodations cannot be changed by Prize winner. Prize winner and guest are responsible for obtaining proper documentation (e.g., passport, valid photo ID) prior to travel. Guest must be 18 years of age or older at time of travel. A parent or legal guardian must accompany a traveling minor. A winner is not a recipient of a prize until he/she has been verified or notified as the winner by the Sponsor or judges. If any portion of the Prize is cancelled or postponed, Sponsor will award remaining Prize components and make no cash payment in lieu of the canceled/postponed component(s). If weather affects the ability for the winner and guest to redeem any portion of Prize during the scheduled date and time, then the Sponsor shall have no further obligations to the winner and guest other than to supply the remaining elements of the Prize minus the unavailable portion of Prize. If Prize is forfeited prior to Sponsor and there is sufficient time to notify an alternate winner, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.

5. WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential Prize winner may be notified and/or verified by email and/or phone. Winner will be notified on October 15 2009. Prize must be acknowledged and accepted by winner no later than October 19 2009 by 12:00 pm. Failure to do will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Prize winner and guest will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility & Liability and Publicity Release, which must be executed, notarized and returned within seven (7) days of date printed on notification or winner will be disqualified. If winner is less than age of majority in his/her state of legal residence, prize may be awarded (at Sponsor’s discretion) in the name of winner’s parent or legal guardian, who may be required to execute, notarize and return an Affidavit of Eligibility & Liability/ Publicity Release (“Prize Notification Documents”) on potential Prize winner’s behalf. Entrants, or their parents or legal guardians, are responsible for notifying Sponsor of changes in email and/or home addresses. If Affidavit(s)/Release(s) are returned as undeliverable, it will result in disqualification, and the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner in a separate random drawing. Failure to fully complete, execute, notarize (if applicable), and return all required forms specified within this time period may result in the Winner being disqualified. In the event of any such disqualification an alternate winner will be selected.
6. GENERAL: If for any reason Pledge Contest is not capable of running as planned, or if this Pledge Contest or any Entry Site associated herewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of the Pledge Contest and processing of entries in accordance with these Official Rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by Entrants, fraud, technical failure, or any other causes, in the Sponsors’ sole opinion, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Pledge Contest, the Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Pledge Contest or any portion thereof. In the event Sponsor is prevented from continuing with the Pledge Contest as contemplated herein by any event beyond its control, including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation, or order of any court or other cause not within Sponsor’s control, Sponsor shall have the right to modify, suspend, extend or terminate the Pledge Contest. If a cancellation, termination, modification, or suspension occurs, notification will be posted at the Entry Site. If cancelled, Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a random drawing to award prizes from among all eligible, non suspect entries received prior to such cancellation. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify Entrants who violate these Official Rules or interfere with this Pledge Contest in any manner and terminate such Entrant’s eligibility to participate in the Pledge Contest. Any attempt by an Entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any Entry Site(s) (including the Entry Site) or undermine the legitimate operation of the Pledge Contest is a violation of criminal and/or civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
7. RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By entering, Entrants agree to (i) comply with these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements; and (ii) release and hold harmless Released Parties from any and all liability, claims, actions, injury, death, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participating in this Pledge Contest, from participating in any Pledge Contest-related activity or from the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize awarded The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Entrant, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Pledge Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Pledge Contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Pledge Contest or the processing of entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged, misdirected or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Entrant’s participation in the Pledge Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. The Released Parties are not responsible for misdirected or undeliverable entries or for any technical problems, malfunctions of computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. Released Parties are not responsible for any typographical/other error in entries, selection announcement or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in, accessing or downloading information in connection with this Pledge Contest. SOME STATES DO NOT PERMIT LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND THESE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
8. DISPUTES: Except where prohibited, you agree that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Pledge Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the Central District of Vermont, U.S.A. or the appropriate Vermont State Court located in Burlington, Vermont, U.S.A.; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Pledge Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; and (4) Entrant waives all right to trial by jury and agrees Entrant will not contest the personal or subject matter jurisdiction of the courts specified in Section 8(1) above.. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Pledge Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of VT, U.S.A. without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of VT, U.S.A. or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State ofVermont, U.S.A.

ELIGIBILITY: Quiz is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (not including residents of Puerto Rico, all U.S. Territories and Possessions and overseas Military Installations), age 18 or older at time of entry (“Entrant”). Employees and their immediate family members (defined as spouses, parents, siblings or children) of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and its advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void elsewhere and where prohibited by law. All Entrants (as defined below) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges and the Sponsor shall be final and binding. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged.
